Vietnam agrees to assist Cuba with fish and shrimp farming

Havana (VNA) - A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on fishery cooperation between Viet Nam and Cuba was signed between Vietnamese Minister of Fisheries Ta Quang Ngoc and his Cuban counterpart Alfredo Lopez in Havana on Dec. 8.
Under the MoU, the two sides are determined to enhance bilateral cooperation in aquaculture. The Cuban side wished to gain experience from Viet Nam, especially in the rearing of shrimp for export.
For its part, Viet Nam will supply fish breeds for Cuba's fishery sector and closely work with the sector to open training courses, exchange information and further facilitate their trade.
During their talks, Minister Ngoc and Minister Lopez informed each other of their achievements in recent years and exchanged experiences in fishing, breeding, processing, exports and aquaculture research.The two sides also expressed hope of further boosting their trade cooperation, especially in aquaculture.
