McDonald's Japan Corp. to introduce shrimp burger to its menu Oct. 28

TOKYO — McDonald's Japan Corp announced Friday that a new product will be added to its menu from Oct 28: the shrimp burger. McDonald's also said that other products were under development, including a grilled chicken sandwich, crispy and grilled chicken salads, and mixed berry yogurt.

According to a McDonald's spokesman, the new burger, named "Ebi Filet-O" in Japanese, was specifically developed to target Japanese, the leading consumers of shrimp in the world. It will sell for about $2.00 US or 270 yen, or just under $5 or 580 yen in a value meal.
