High Health Aquaculture highlights progress at its new shrimp breeding center

Jim Wyban, president of High Health Aquaculture Inc., said he is pleased to report the recent ground-breaking use and newd about the shrimp breeding center at its Kona Broodstock Center.

"Some may call it a Nucleus Breeding Center," Wyban said. "It is designed to produce a large numbers of same-age families of SPF shrimp for our breeding programs."

The building had been in development for two years. In its first use this month, Wyban said they were working with three stocks of SPF shrimp.

Wyban then discussed the milestone that occurred September 7.

"This Wednesday -- I'm calling it 'Big Wednesday' -- we produced Nauplii from our SPF stocks of P.monodon, P.japonicusand P. vannamei. They are now all in larval rearing systems
and doing well."
