Vietnam prepared for October
global shrimp meeting
Vietnam looks forward to the 2005 Global
Shrimp Outlook (GSOL) conference, due to
take place in October there.
The conference is to open by the end of October
with the participation of about 300 of the
world’s leading shrimp importers, according
to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters
and Producers (VASEP).
Vietnam was selected to host the event in
January this year by the Global Aquaculture
Alliance (GAA).
This year’s meeting will focus on four
main subjects: shrimp production potentials
of GAA member countries, the markets of large
exporter countries, major importers including
the US, the European Union, Japan and China;
and forecast global shrimp prices.
This will be the fifth GSOL conference. The
previous meetings were in turn held in Singapore,
Indonesia, Mexico and Thailand.
